The idea for The Lemon Brothers to use music to promote literacy was started with a local reading instructor.

During the concert the boys discuss the importance of reading and different kinds of stories and books.

The Lemon Brothers wrote a song, “Wild About Reading” to promote literacy and show other kids that reading is cool.

The Lemon Brothers Literacy Concert is about 30 minutes long and includes modern songs with a reading theme or sometimes with a twist on the lyrics to emphasize reading.

Between songs there is dialogue between the boys discussing books they have read and how they find time to read even though they are busy with music and other activities.

Their original song “Wild About Reading” is used as a crowd participation song and finale.

The “Wild About Reading” CD-single is available as a reward for reading goals or as encouragement to read.
